This map was inspired by sidewalkwidths.nyc and is intended to give an impression of how sidewalk widths impact the ability of pedestrians to practice social distancing.
Widths were determined from the District of Columbia's Sidewalk dataset, last updated in 2019. The data has not been verfied for accuracy or completeness.
This data set was developed using a methodology adapted from Meli Harvey's GitHub page.
If you know of places where sidewalks should be widened to help promote public health and safety, please contact your ANC Member or District Council Person.
